Organizing Makes Me Happy!

I {love} organization! I have a few things that I just ordered from Thirty-One Gifts for organizing that I wanted to share with you.

This is the Hang-Up Home Organizer. I keep it in my kitchen, on the door to the basement. It contains the following:

Our chore chart. I used the old one, I just typed it time and made it horizontal to fit the pocket.

I haven’t figured out what to do with the other two pockets yet, but the Sunday and Wednesday pockets hold my Bible class material for my preschool class.

I chose to pay the extra cash~ola and get it personalized. I wanted it to say Sam’s Noggin, but the wording wouldn’t work for what I was allowed. I paid $45 for it, plus $6 for personalization.
After my wall organizer came, I saw this great idea {and giveaway} on a blog I like called IHeart Organizing. {Can you tell why I like it??} Anyway, Jen uses her tote for her business, organizing. When I saw the Organizing Utility Tote, I knew it was just what I was looking for to tote around my homeschool papers and planner.

I ordered Jen’s suggested clear box from the Container Store. I also ordered orange hanging files from Amazon.

I put the file box in my bag, which was $22 plus personalization. In the pocket up front I have my fave Frixion pens for writing in my planner {they erase with friction, and really work!}

These files are for worksheets and other printables I happen upon while the year goes on. I have a planner, but I want to keep records for each child separate so I can keep a transcript more easily. The monthly files will hold projects and studies that I find that are not in the plan for the year, arranged by which month I think they will work best in.
I will be going over what I have planned for long-term planning in another post.

    Hi Sam,

    I was just thinking about this bag and adding the files to it. Have you continued to use it that way?

    I love these ideas! The wall organizing would be prefect for out family.  Do you have a consultant that you would recommend? I live in Alaska and I searched for one near me, but got a name in KS and can’t order from her site. Any information would help.

    I love organizing but sometimes organize so much that I forget where I organized it all. *blush*

    I have different binders that i only remember if I open all of them. I have homemaking, blogging, prek, homeschooling. I have goals, forms, worksheets…all kinds of stuff. But unless I open each one everyday, I have forgotten the planning I’ve done and nothing gets done.

    I guess I need a “go to, everyday” binder to put pieces from each thing in!! Is there such a thing as being “over organized?” Ha ha! ;-)

    I love the monthly folders idea!! I lose track of so many great ideas because it’s more appropriate for another time of year and by then I forget about them. So copying this idea!! Oh and very pretty bag!

    I could spend a large fortune on Thirty-One Gifts (esp. since I get a thumbs up on their products from my husband…but I’m exercising (and breaking a sweat) delayed gratification).

    I <3 those totes and the file box idea to go in it. I do have an anniversary and birthday coming up. hmmm

    I love your breakfast menu! Ours is really similar. It’s not that I don’t want to take the time to fix breakfast, but I don’t want the temptation/calories. I love my Total Raisin Bran each morning. It’s really hard to eat my raisin bran, though, when I’m making waffles for everyone!

    I wouldn’t say I heart organizing, but I heart the finished product : ).
