Organizing Our Path

If you have been around here for very long, you know two things- that we love Geography Matters Trail Guide To Learning for our curriculum, and I live to clean and organize.

The other day I was looking at my well-organized shelves in our schoolroom, and had a thought for better keeping our Paths to Exploration supplies sorted.

Each of the six week units has it’s own magazine file, which is labeled. The books for each unit will live there, as well as the file folders I keep where leftover or unused worksheets will wait until we use POE again. I thought this would be the easiest way to keep everything together so that reuse would be a breeze.

We are currently using the Daniel Boone unit, and I haven’t purchased the books for the Trails West unit yet. When this year is over I will move these to my storage bookcases on the other side of the room, and replace them with files for the books I am building up for Paths of Settlement.

All of this organization talk reminds me that I need to take some current classroom photos. You all are very interested in changes that have been made during March! How do you store curriculum you want to use again?

Fortunately for me, my classroom has great built ins for storage. I do need to fogure out a good archivong system though.
On a side note. I found a great recycle/organizing/free resource on Pinterest. Recycle empty cereal boxes by turning them into Magazine Files. Just use an existing file gox to cut out a pattern, then cut the ceareal box to shape. Fun vibrant colors at no cost!

I love these photos. Makes me want to organize our stuff again. LOL. But I am currently in the middle of the girls closets. Our little one has grown almost 5 inches in the last year and she’s not even 3 yet!!! So I have a lot of hand me down clothes she never wore that I need to pass on and get out of the house.

You are like me, I LOVE to organize! We live very close to Daniel Boone’s Homestead. We are planning a trip there this summer :-) Have a great day!
