Wednesday in The Word: 1 John Three

How are you this week? Are you enjoying your studies as much as I am? I am currently writing in my Proverbs Journible, but I am posting the Scriptures that grabbed me while I wrote in 1 John.

Scripture:

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

1 John 3:1

Observation:

The world did not know Christ.

In the gospel of John, Christ says,

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”

John 15:18

That stings. The world doesn’t want to know Christ. The world wants to rely on the world.

When we walk in Christ, some people just aren’t going to get us.

Application:

We aren’t in a popularity contest as Christians. Some people will be drawn to what makes us do the things we do {unless we walk around as a horrible example and then you will repel those who don’t know Him} and others won’t. As long as we are living right, we really can’t worry about it.

We need to share The Word, and pray about it, but we can’t take rejection personally.

I cannot be mocked, bullied or laughed away from my faith.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, help me find situations where I can be a worker, help me to be a fisher of men. Help me not to worry about what the world around me says or does, but to follow You. Amen.
