Making a Menu

I posted Tuesday about me coming home again full-time after my brief job away from home. This job was not for fun, but necessity, and nothing has changed for us in the income department, so I am trying to cut costs to make up the difference.

It may seem pretty elementary, but our menu planning went out the door with me when I started working away from home. There just wasn’t time for everything!

The best way I know how to organize meals is on paper. The only problem, I have no clue where the originals went for my menu planning.

I decided to make some, and share them with you. They aren’t fancy, but they will work. If you take your favorite meals and plug them into weeks, you will have a rotation of meals and always know what you need to purchase for them.

  4. Menu making is one area that I fail MISERABLY at, but it really does make things go so much smoother. Thanks for the printables, now I just need to use them. ;0)

  5. I have found menu planning at least for lunch and dinner can be done in Google Calendar fairly easily, I added a new calendar and color coded it. Now I can see what is for lunch and dinner and make notes including grocery list items on my phone, we can also view it on the computer as well. I can print it if I need to, but since I have my phone with me all the time, this saves paper and ink.

  8. Hey Sam, thanks for sharing the worksheets. I like using Evernote and Pinterest for meal planning because I can add pictures – and it feels a lot more fun than just scribbling a meal plan down on a pad of paper.

  9. Thanks for sharing your forms you made! :) I find that I save much more when I make up menus as well–and I am trying to remember to start making them by looking in the fridge. That way I can use up something that might otherwise go bad, before I make up “new” foods.

  10. Nice!
