How is my week going? Fabulously!! Hubby has been doing Combat with me, so we climb out of bed at 5:30 together, he makes me two eggs and tea, we do our Bible study, and then the gloves go on! {Literally!}
I haven’t missed any of my workouts, and each day I am a sweaty mess. I LOVE IT!
Even though I canned the Whole30, which was a bit too restrictive to me, I did learn some things.
- My body doesn’t like bread or pasta.
- My body doesn’t do well with sugar.
- Dairy and beans are cool.
- I am glad that I did the Whole10 {snicker} because I know have a better picture about how sugar treats me, and so I am trying to avoid it as much as I can. We even have scaled back the amount of sugar we use in sweet tea, and I drink less of it.
As far as progress with my goals, I haven’t lost any of those pesky 10 pounds this week, but I can see the fat leaving, and my muscles are popping back out everywhere. I’ll take it!!
How was your week?

I love your workout updates, Sam. Very inspiring. I’m taking swimming lessons! I’m usually a runner but I’m trying to save my joints as I plan on living until a ripe old age.

Sam,
So glad you are sharing all you are learning! I meant to let you know how glad I am you decided to come home. . . aren’t things calmer? I know the loss of income will be of concern, but God provides. It’s worth the beans and rice, believe me. I would not trade all those days/years with my children and husband.
No regrets!
hugs! and keep up the good work with your exercise!

Thanks Denise! I have always been home, this short time away has been a learning experience for sure! It IS worth it, and I know God will fill in the gaps!

Hi Sam!
I’ve been trying to lose those last 10 lbs too, and they don’t seem to want to go anywhere! I know the problem is that I need to be more consistent about exercising, but I’m a terrible procrastinator!! Once I get into the habit, I stick with it pretty well. It’s just a matter of making myself get started. And, unfortunately, I don’t have an exercise partner to keep me accountable! I wish my hubby would exercise with me, but he’s just not there yet. Hopefully one day! What is the Whole30 thing that you mentioned?
I didn’t have trouble losing the last ten pounds originally, but these I gained after a running injury are killing me!! Having a partner really does help! I have been doing mostly alone for 4 years, sometimes my friend would come over. I like working out with hubby.

It is great to have someone to work out with. This is the first time that my husband and I have really worked out together. We have been getting up at 5 am (on weekdays) and 6am (on Saturdays) for the last 21 days to do Insanity. If he wasn’t getting up too I would be hitting the snooze. We also get to spend more quiet time together in the morning. It is an added bonus. I hope we continue this after the 9 weeks of Insanity is over. It is so nice to have my workout done and shower by 7am. Still drying to drop 10-15lbs but I know I need to cut out the snacking.
Snacking is the devil sometimes! ;)
