Wednesday in The Word: Proverbs One

My Journible for  1 & 2 Corinthians has just arrived, so I will be sharing a SOAP from Proverbs with you today instead. I am really close to the end!

Wednesday in The Word

Scripture:

Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD, would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof,  therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices. For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them;

Proverbs 1:28-32

Observation:

There are those who will reject God.

There are those who will reject God until it is too late.

Application:

I have not rejected God, but I see these verses and I must pray for those who are rejecting Him. I must pray that their blinded eyes will see before they are lost for eternity.

These four verses make me mourn for those who have chosen to deny their Creator, to feel His love, to live as a child of the most Holy.

I must pray for the lost, especially those who don’t even realize what they are losing. This world is becoming to blind.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for Your never-ending love and faithfulness. Thank you for giving me a choice, and for allowing me to see the Son as the precious gift He is. Please help me reach the lost, those who don’t revere You. Forgive me when I fail. Amen.

As promised, I will be sharing the Scriptures I am memorizing. My husband {the preacher} is helping me choose as I move along with the chapters I am writing and studying from. This wasn’t my original thought, I was just going to bounce around with memorization, but this made more sense.

First up:

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Corinthians 21-25

I can’t wait to dive into my fresh new Journible!!

    Sam-

Thanks so much for introducing me to Journibles!!! I ordered my first one at the beginning of the year. I decided on Proverbs for my first study. I started it right away and am really enjoying it a lot!!

  2. This memory verse was one my daddy quoted often. ‘The foolishness of God is wiser than men.’ Love it, helps me remember when “men” are speaking their wisdom, that God is stronger than they.
    Thanks for posting.

  3. I can easily get overwhelmed with the world and it’s rejection of God. It seems so impossible sometimes! But I am thankful that with Him all things ARE possible…it’s not up to me to change anyone’s mind. It is up to me to live out the gospel and to let God call His children unto Him as I share the gospel with them. Prayer is essential to that endeavor. Thanks for the reminder that we need to do just that!
