Okay, I know 1 Corinthians was supposed to start today, but I am inches from finishing Proverbs, so I want to give it my full attention until I reach the end.
Proverbs chapter two is almost completely highlighted in my Bible. The heading in my ESV for chapter is “The Value of Wisdom.” If you haven’t read it in awhile, read it when you get the chance!
Scripture:
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
Proverbs 2:6-8
Observation:
Wisdom comes from the Lord, and He gives it to those who walk upright.
Application:
There are a lot of people who think that they are wise. Some of these “wise” people seek to mock Christians, and think themselves higher in knowledge, simply because we accept the inspired words held within the Scripture.
The only true wisdom comes from God, and as long as I walk with Him, with integrity, He will watch over me.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this gift of Your written Word. Thank you for allowing me to study so that I may become closer to You. Help me to reach those who do not know You, and the gift of Your Son. Amen.

Thank you so much for doing this every week. God has ignited a fire in me within the last 2 weeks and I can’t stand not getting time in His word each and every day. I am looking for ways to study the Bible itself because I want to hear what He is telling me directly, not just through another author (I have some of those too). Any suggestions?
I really like studying this way, while writing out each book a little each day. I do not belong to any denomination, so I am very careful about what authors I choose outside of the Scripture. I have one commentary I love, and it is because I don’t worry about what is written inside of it. A New Testament Commentary by Wayne Jackson is my go-to, or my husband, who is a preacher.
