Last week, I told you about my plans for 2013 here on Wednesday. Sunday evening I was hit with the feeling that I needed to throw myself into study of the New Testament.
I was upset at the thought of “quitting” reading the Bible through, but I couldn’t shake the feeling.
Thankfully, after settling on my decision, I felt better instead of guilty. I think this is the right path for now.
Here are my new plans:
Memorize Scriptures to help those who are non-believers, or unsure. {I’ll share them as I make my list.}
Slowly study 1 & 2 Corinthians.
Write 1&2 Corinthians.
SOAP through Corinthians.
I don’t have a time frame for this, I am going to study through until I am done.
I am continuing to write Proverbs for now. I hope to wrap up before my next Journible arrives.
Hopefully next week I will have my initial Scriptures outlined to memorize as well. I have been crazy busy lately, so best intentions for this site come after family.
I’m sure you understand!
This week, feel free to share what you have found to be your Bible study “fit”. For me, slow study and writing have been my best friend!

My honest belief is when we get that overwhelming feeling that we just can’t shake, is when the Spirit is working in our hearts to lead us where He wants us to be. You made the right move by following the lead. :)

Hi Sam!
I just decided to start reading through I Corinthians on Monday! I guess we’ll be working through it together. This morning I read 1 Cor. 1:8 which says that Jesus will sustain me to the end. I thought that would be a good verse to be my focus through this year.

That is a fabulous verse! It will be fun to read through at the same time!

I love forward to slow study and writing, but the journible that spoke the most to me when I was shopping was Acts. I settled on reading through the Bible in 90 days to start off the year, and hopefully by then the Acts Journible will be available.

I really like your plan. I recently did the SOAP method through Collosians and that was so amazing. Right now, I’m just working on a devotional that has a bible reading plan in it and will be leading a small group of women through a DVD study from Sheila Walsh. Thank you for sharing your plan.

I’ll be watching for your scripture list. I’m rather fond of blog posts that are full of scripture. :) Also, your new plan sounds awesome. Soaking in the NT is a great way to spend your quiet time. :)

Many interesting and controversial things in Corinthians….curious to hear your take on them. =)
One of the reasons I chose it… :)
I have not yet taken any “read through the Bible” challenges…just have felt the call to do other studies, like you!
This year I am memorizing Colossians, so I have mapped out a plan to study and learn it exclusively. I downloaded Ann Voskamp’s “Colossians in a Year” printable and am working through it. She divided the whole book into 2 verses a week, plus a few weeks of review here and there.
I am using the SOAP method each week as a part of my memorization plan and am about to blog that. I was looking for the code for your Wednesday in the Word graphic to put in my post, but didn’t see it. Is it available for sharing?
I’m looking forward to coming here each week. I hope I can encourage you in your quest for Corinthians, and I thank God for your faithfulness in sharing what He is doing in your life! (just learned I need to do that from my SOAP of Col 1:3-4…it’s working already! ;)

Thank you, and I like Ann’s plan. Enjoy it!!
We switched Bible Reading programs. The one we started was just too overwhelming, so we’re doing a different one I have on these bookmarkers to read through the Bible in a Year. We missed yesterday’s reading though. Being sick is wreaking havoc on our readings. *sigh*
