So just when I start my Corinthians posts, my husband starts teaching this book in a class each week. I get even more study!
Scripture:
I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?
1 Corinthians 3:2-3
Observation:
We are to be spiritual as Christians. We need to grow, molding ourselves to the example of Christ as we study. Shedding self. We can’t do that without digging into the Word.
Application:
If we look the same as those in the world, we do not show Christ in our lives. We cannot reflect someone we don’t know. We know Christ by reading His words, following His example, leaving behind what doesn’t fit His will.
I survived on milk for years. I see a huge difference in my walk now. I make different decisions, I have a different mindset.
The Word has changed me.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for being patient with me as I strive to shed self and put on Christ. Thank you over and over for His perfect example. I pray that I can lead others to You. Amen.

I’ve felt myself moving from milk to meat over the last few years. And I think there are some parallels between the way my son acts when he’s cutting teeth and the way I’ve felt cutting my spiritual teeth. It isn’t a painless process to realize exactly how much you need to die to self, and to put it into action.

I can totally relate. I have read this passage of scripture numerous times these past few months. I have been faithful to church for the better part of sixteen years. Yet, it isn’t until these past three that I have moved beyond the milk. I thoroughly love my Bible time in the mornings now and am walking each day with the Lord. I know He is with me no matter what I am going through and am relying on His COMPLETE Word to get me through the hard times.

Thanks, so much Robin! There are so many who are thankful to be on the other side of their walk, grateful for the grace to make it on the other side!

Spiritual exercise produces a fit spirit. Just as physical exercise produces a fit body. :) Love how the Lord helps us to grow when we determine to seek after His word.
Love the new blog look btw.
