Welcome to Sam’s Noggin!

My name is Sam, I am a 33 year old homeschooling mom, and have been married to Rick, my  high school sweetheart, for  15 years. We are proud parents to 6 beautiful children.

Rick was called to be a preacher, I was called to homeschool. I love blogging about it!

I am interested in photography, Bible study, exercise, weight loss maintenance {weight loss story} and cleaning and organizing things. I am ever thankful to Jesus, who gave His life, the greatest gift of all.

Hello. I just came across your blog today and am quite excited. I am also a pastor’s wife who is homeschooling. This year, I purchased Mystery of History 1 for my 1st and 4th grader, but after a long series of events, my 4th grader ended up going to public school this year. Next year, we are getting back on the homeschooling path. I have been looking ath the Trail Guide to Learning series, and I was wondering what you think of it in comparison to MOH. Are you doing both with different levels of children? I am thinking about putting it up until we do some US History and my youngest gets a little older. I also love Charlotte Mason, but need some guidance! I would love your opinion!

They are so different. We still use MOH for our oldest. It is so easy to jump in and read a lesson. Our younger children like hearing the stories in books like Trail Guide to Learning offers. Both are fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with either choice!
